Friday 23 August 2013 - What a busy lousy week I have had - TOO MUCH!!!  Boy was I under pressure this week - THREE full-on classes lasting a day each and each one in a topic that I had never taught in such a way before - that the students came in in the morning and I worked them REALLY HARD for 3 hours then we went for lunch.  After lunch they SAT THEIR EXAM.  

It's quite scary knowing that you're not a school teacher but a different kind of teacher/trainer who has peoples' lives in your hands; that your work and effort can actually make such a tangible difference in other human beings lives.  

But BOY WAS IT HARD WORK - I had been teaching EVERY WORKING DAY for about 2 months now without A BREAK so there was little prep time outside of my own personal hours, so THE NIGHT BEFORE each lesson combined with THE MORNING OF EACH LESSON I put in about 2/3 hours work in order to make the class go SO WELL!  

Each class that I ran I prepared really fully, going through all the material and possible exam material.

I then packed it into a LINEAR 2-3 HOUR LESSSON and just went crazy in class, going through EVERYTHING THE STUDENTS MIGHT COME UP AGAINST.  One lesson was Maths, the next was English and the final one was IT.

I really gave it EVERYTHING I HAD which is why I have not been on this BLOG for a few days now!!

But it's ALL OVER NOW!

I did quiz the students after their exams and BOY WAS I PLEASED TO HEAR THAT THE PREP THAT I HAD DONE WITH EACH OF THEM REALLY HAD HELPED ALL OF THEM, IN FACT TOO MUCH THAT SOME OF THEM FOUND THE EXAM FAR EASIER THAN THEY HAD ANTICIPATED.  THAT WAS GOOD NEWS FOR ME AND A VINDICATION OF MY CAREFULNESS IN NOT ASSUMING ANYTHING BUT TURNING OVER EVERY STONE IN ORDER TO PREPARE MY STUDENTS WELL.

I AM A CAREFUL PERSON AND SOME PEOPLE CHIDE ME FOR IT BUT I THINK IF SOMETHING IS WORTH DOING THEN IT'S WORTH DOING WELL.

And THAT INCLUDES CHRISTIANITY!!!

I believe in God, a Saviour, and in Jesus Christ my eternal Lord and Saviour!!!

I believe He's a Good God and wants EVERYBODY TO KNOW LOVE AND SERVE HIM, and I really want to COMMUNICATE THAT TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE - HOW DO I DO THAT???  Twitter and Facebook are massive platforms these days and other social media is incredible but I LOVE THE FACE TO FACE INTERACTION OF PEOPLE AND THEIR RESPONSIVENESS AND I WANT TO GIVE MY LIFE TO FACE-TO-FACE EVANGELISM AND REACHING PEOPLE FOR JESUS CHRIST.  IS THAT WRONG?  IS THAT CRAZY? OR IS THAT THE WILL OF GOD?  WHAT ABOUT FULL/PART TIME?  WILL I EVER BE GOOD ENOUGH OR NEEDED ENOUGH TO BE ACTUALLY REQUIRED TO LIVE AND PREACH FOR JESUS?  THAT IS MY DESIRE BUT WILL I EVER MAKE IT A REALITY?  

I GUESS A LOT DEPENDS ON ME, REALLY.

HOW I LIVE FOR GOD.

HOW I OBEY GOD.

HOW I SERVE HIM.

HOW I SERVE AND LOVE OTHER PEOPLE.

HOW I MANAGE MY WIFE AND FAMILY.

HOW I READ AND OBEY THE PRINCIPLES WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE.

HOW PROACTIVE I AM IN WORKING WITH OTHER CHRISTIANS.

And a lot more!

This is our fine Ford Mondeo at Forty Hall near Enfield getting ready for sale! It is a shame but has to be done as it is a precious car but beyond our means to keep 2 running and so is an unnecessary cost now that we have a larger 7-seater Ford Galaxy

Sunday, 20 May 2007 : Work is going well...

Work is going well, raced through Chapters 3 & 4 yesterday on the exchange book - hard work while working full time but still do-able.

Enjoying work tremendously; still working feverishly hard and enjoying every minute of it; learning rapidly and also progressing onto Chapter 3 Microsoft Exchange exam which I am starting to plug in my spare time in the hope that now at least that I am working it will be easier to look at settings of live servers and pick up what the books are trying to say without having to build my own (erronous) server from scratch at my own place (where I am rarely there any more!). Also want to look at a static IP address as can probably start experimenting with that then after that particularly with setting up a server for emails and even for other things and maybe to make some money!!! Thing is, a server must be up 100% which I do not want in my home.

Working hard, getting up early to pray and getting a really good day's work in - getting in regularly at 715am nearly every day and although not getting lunch breaks still relatively refreshed at the end of the day

New Year 2007 Update

We are all well here at our flat in Enfield and I worked during the non-bank
holiday days over the festive period but other than that had an enjoyable
time. Philippa is now 5 and can add up 2 digit numbers (eg 34+16) vertically
which I'm quite pleased about as I try and make them do little bits of
numbers or reading/writing most mornings before the day begins. Philippa is
a very smart and buoyant girl who attracts gifts from children at school -
she received a Pooh bear for a Christmas present and the girl who gave it to
Philippa was not even one of the girls that Philippa had made close
aquaintance with and so Philippa did not even know the girl's name! She has
just also received a huge necklace from someone else!!! Christa is 3 (nearly
4, in April) and likewise is doing well although a little more sulky than
Philippa! They both play for hours and hours interspersed with crying at
each other for a perceived offence! Baby Philip is 1 and a half years old
now and a livlier more humorous character I do not know - he can sit on the
floor when I tell him to do so but promptly gets up the moment my eyes turn
away again! He also writes on the walls but other than that is brilliant
just to be around and all the girls in our church adore him!

We have a beautiful Ford Mondeo 2 litre black automatic and someone ran into
the back of it! The amazing thing was that the front of the offending car
was crushed quite badly but our car suffered literally only paintwork
damage!!! Zoe was shaken but otherwise unhurt, as was the offending driver
who it turned out was uninsured and passed fake contact details etc on to
Zoe in the street who was shaken badly enough to let him get away without
cottoning on to the fact that he was faking the fact that he was offering to
call the police if Zoe wanted to. Zoe eventually said no, let's settle
privately but of course the first thing I did was to check his mobile and it
was invalid; went to his address and someone else lived there as well! Our
insurance told us that his registration was showing as uninsured. But at
least Zoe and the car were relatively unscathed during the incident, just
our pockets were financially put out of sorts!
