Blog for Tuesday 29 Nov 2005

Up early again - 3am ish this morning, which God is commanding me to do at
this time of not working so I can get quality studying done in the early
hours while all is peaceful and still! It truly is good to be alive and
cycle at those hours when nearly everyone else is fast asleep and knows
nothing of these hours except maybe when flying abroad or finishing a late
night party. Anyway prayed with Zoe this morning early as she was up feeding
the baby anyway, then went off on my weekly hilly half marathon run. Was
good this morning and although the 1st quarter was slow, once I caught my
second wind I was away and soon was aggressively attacking the 2nd and 3rd
quarters. Running slowed towards the end but was still aggressive and I
ended up taking 5 minutes off the course best of 1.59.33 and made it 1.54.23
which was very healthy indeed given the nature of the course. I reckon 1.45
will be my goal and if I reach that I will know it will be time to do some
longer distance training runs, maybe 3/4 marathon length. God is good!

Elderly Care Home Ministry

Began elderly care home ministry once again! Went well, better than expected and all the pain of fasting was worth it for the power which manifested on that day. Truly I personally did not "feel" particularly strongly about my own personal revelation, or closeness to God "on the day". But Tues and Weds I had been fasting and praying for today and there was an atmosphere, electricity, joy, spontaneity from start to finish with the outreach ! ! !

Enough people turned up; more than we could fit in a small minibus without cramming people in solid!  Even Dave Hunt couldn't get in and missed the outreach as the building was locked and we were inside, and the door was locked. But I feel it was the Lord's orchestration ! ! !

Mary (unsaved) joyfully received us & blessed us & received us joyfully again! She was cheerful and really into the outreach ! Pray for her salvation ! ! !

Sharif bothers me in my spirit as I am uncertain what to do and his
unpredictability un-nerves me and does not do my Christian walk any good
either. There are several issues; firstly the practical pressing issue of
getting a job. Secondly in prayer I sense the right thing to do is to extend
a hand towards Sharif especially during this time of study and I T job
seeking. Thirdly getting the balance right between study and time helping.
Fourthly and this is probably the key issue I need to plan my day ahead
around The Lord as well as my family so I need to get some practical
communication going whereby I can fruitfully use my time. I feel like I want
to help but he's so used to getting none he's got to go it alone. I cannot
impede that either.

Running Blog Monday 21 November 530am run!

Run time half mar 1h 59.54 very slow although started great, slowed down
dramatically as I approached the 3/4 stage and that let me down. Prob
because was half fasting yesterday morning and I never fully ate properly
until around 4pm which is not good preparation for a race like this! On the
good side I reckon I could EASILY knock 10 minutes off the time just with
persistent and hard training once a week over 3 to 4 months and then look at
doing the Edinburgh marathon next year! My home run is very hilly, in fact
very little of it is flat so times on a flat course would be MUCH, MUCH
faster! There are 12 MAJOR hills which I counted, all of which are steep,
long or both.

I enjoy running so much it truly is incredible, to push one's body to limits
of endurance and fitness is a wonderful and exhilarating experience!

Blog for today Thursday 17 November

Blog for today Thursday 17 November

Have time off from work so can really enjoy prayer time in the mornings now,
uninterrupted by time constraints generally. Today I need to text Sharif
anyway again convu the van and its availability. The Lord has spoken to me
and He must have a reason for me getting this van! The fact that Zoe is
behind it as well is helpful!
Today email Sharif and if he does not call, take car in morning and go and
study providing Zoe does not need it. Pick up van by driving good and
getting bus to garage but on the way go to Ford- or maybe just leave it if
this is going to cause too much inconvenience!

Get my head down and really study today! I have a golden opportunity, so use
it to gain qualifications!

Call Pastor 9am. Call Callum. Do bass and piano and paperwork which is ugly.

Blog for today Wednesday 16 November

Need to speak to Pastor Brown re prayer, confession of sins and keep my
heart pure and full of grace and of the love of God. Stop off at Ford to get
paint on way to drop van off. May need to walk or get bus home or better
still just stay out all day until fixed in which case better iron my clothes
for church tonight before I leave. Hand in papers to nursery on the way to
Fords. Have a good day out studying and remember to put all of the answers
in the correct place with all of the questions!
